The more I build with people outside of the conscious circle I realize how stagnant we have become with our information. Remember back in the day we had to wait for a lecturer to come to town and sell his video or cassette tapes to get information. And it was that one dude who used to try to get to the front of the line to buy up $200 dollars worth of stuff and stash it away in his personal library. Also, we did not have the Internet, so we had to buy the books from Black book stores as they became available. So, it was a struggle to even get the information. And since we did not have Facebook, in order to share the info, we had to sit in the back of bookstores in study groups. During that time, our info was controversial and the folks in the conscious circle were often ostracized from radio shows and other events. I remember in Durham they used to mock us and call us Bruce Bridges followers... So having and spreading the info was confrontational. But now, people can just go on google books and youtube and learn the information that it took years for us to obtain in a few days and become experts..And since we are still quoting the same books from Dr. Ben and the same VHS tapes from Steve Cokely and Dr. Khallid, they have access to the same info at the touch of a finger. And it is no longer a secret so the power is not having it but using it... Also, as Ferguson showed us, we are seeing the birth of conscious activists who are going to actually get the info and use it for something besides debates...So, while we are busy quoting history, this new conscious activist crowd will be making history....
