Yesterday,I did a list of my top 6 favorite movies of the year so far.Well,I cant have a worst movies of the year list because I have seen some really bad movies this year.Here is my least favorite movies of the year list. 6.Jack Ryan:Shadow Recruit Grade:C Im a big fan the Jack Ryan franchise with The Hunt for Red October,Patriot Games,and Clear and Present Danger being some of my favorite thrillers.I even find The Sum of All Fears to be a very underrated movie.However,I didnt really like this movie that much.It wasnt a bad movie,but it was so ungodly boring.The movie didnt even feel like a Jack Ryan movie.It felt like a generic and cliched spy movie we have seen a million times before.The best thing about the movie was the acting.Chris Pine was very good in the movie as Jack Ryan and he was the best thing about the movie.Is he on level with Sean Connery and Harrison Ford?No,but he was still good.Keira Knightley,Kevin Costner,and Kenneth Branagh were good in their roles as well.My main problem with Shadow Recruit is that it feels like the same spy movie we have seen so many times.All the cliches you can think of are here.I cant even name them all because there are so many of them.The action scenes in the movie are poorly shot and theres only three action scenes in the whole movie which is stupid.The story is also not very good as well.For the first movie I saw this year,this was a mediocre and bland movie.Skip this one or just rent this from Redbox,Vudu,Netflix,or whatever you have. 5.RoboCop Grade:C I love the original RoboCop film and when I heard the original movie was going to remade,I vomited a little in my mouth.RoboCop wasnt a bad movie,but an extremely disappointing remake of the original film.The guy who played Alex Murphy/RoboCop was very bland in his role and I wish they should have hired someone better to play Alex Murphy.The origin story for Alex Murphy in this movie was so poorly done that it made me want to pull the hair out of my head.The origins of RoboCop in the original movie took three minutes of run-time,but here the origins dragged on forever and the writers cant decide how long they want the origin to be.I explained it more in my review for the movie(which you can read on rottentomatoes)so Im not going to go into more detail.The loss of the R rating from the original movie also hurts this movie a lot.The original was an extremely bloody and gory movie and this movie is the original movie for little kids.The villains were forgettable,Detroit looked nothing like it did in the original movie,and there were many other things in the movie that made me mad.Skip this movie. 4.The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Grade:C- The first Amazing Spider-Man movie was enjoyable,but I was really,really disappointed with this movie.The thing that I hated the most about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the story.The main problem I had with this movie was all the subplots and useless characters that serve no purpose to the movie.We have so much stuff going on in this movie that it made it very,very confusing.We have Peter Parkers relationship with Gwen Stacy,him trying to reconnect with Harry Osborn,him trying to figure out what happened to his parents,Harry Osborn trying to cure himself,etc.This movie is Spider-Man 3 all over again.The acting was really good though.Andrew Garfield was great in the movie,Emma Stone was also great,Dane DeHaan was good in the movie,and Jamie Foxx was good.The action scenes in the movie I thought were poor mostly because all the action scenes were ruined in the trailers and they look like a cut-scene from a video game.I was also upset that Rhino was barely in the movie and I hated what the movie did with Harry Osborn and Electro.Im not going to go into anymore detail because I wrote an extremely long review on Rotten Tomatoes which you can read.I saw this movie twice in the theaters.Once in a huge theater and the second time in a mall theater and both times I wish I got my money back.I might buy this movie at one point,but I dont see myself paying $25 bucks for a Blu-Ray. 3.Maleficent Grade:D- I love the original animated Sleeping Beauty movie,but this movie was an absolute disgrace to the original movie and the tale in general.My main problem with this movie was they made Maleficent the good guy instead of the bad guy.No.That is absolutely unacceptable to do to one of the greatest Disney villainesses of all time if not the greatest.That made me want to strangle the writers.The character of Maleficent in this movie is nothing like Maleficent in the original movie.Maleficent in the original movie had a ton of personality,she was cunning,and spiteful and plus she turned into a dragon.Here,Maleficent is not evil except in maybe two scenes and all she does in the movies is cry and become Auroras mother like figure.You heard me right.They make Maleficent and Aurora have a mother-daughter relationship in this movie which is just unbearable.There are so many occasions in the movie where she saves Aurora from death even when she could kill her like she wanted to do in the first place.The fairies in this movie are annoying as heck in this movie and the visuals done on them looked so creepy that it felt like I was watching a live action film version of The Polar Express and they are incompetent morons.In the original movie they are fun characters that are smart and competent.There is one scene in the movie where the fairies are trying to take care of a baby Aurora and they let her walk off a cliff.ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!King Stefan was poorly written in this movie and Sharlto Copley played him terribly.Elle Fanning was also horrible in this movie as Aurora.The visuals in this movie are awful and the movie also has no creativity as well.The only thing I liked in this movie was Angelia Jolie as Maleficent and shes the only reason I didnt give this movie an F.When I saw this movie and it was over,the movie received an big ovation.I was ready to scream HOW DID YOU LIKE THIS GARBAGE?!.SKIP THIS MOVIE. 2.Transformers:Age of Extinction Grade:D- I think I was one of the only people who found Dark of the Moon to be a good movie and when I saw the trailer for this movie,I got excited.And then I saw the movie and.....IT WAS AWFUL.I swear,how did this movie get made?This was horrible.This is pretty much the fourth time we have seen the same movie again.We go to see these movies to robots blow buildings and other robots up,not to see annoying human characters and boring government talk.Its been the same movie for four times and Im sick of it.The story to this movie was terrible.The movie I think doesnt even have a story and is boom after boom after boom.The action is poorly shot and half the time I couldnt tell who was fighting who.The movie is also so long to the point where I thought the movie wasnt going to end.The daughter and boyfriend character are so annoying to the point where I was waiting for a Decepticon to shoot them.The movie is also directed so poorly and I wish Michael Bay didnt direct this movie at all.The awful humor from the previous movies is back and its even worse than the humor from Revenge of the Fallen.In my original review,I said that the visuals looked really good.However,looking back on the visuals I thought the visuals were mediocre.The Transformers looked like they were from a video game and the visuals on the Dinobots werent that good either.Speaking of the Dinobots,they were barely in the movie.Grimlock is my favorite Transformer of all time and barely having him in this movie made my blood boil.The only thing I liked in the movie was Mark Wahlberg.My question is how this movie made over $1 billion dollars.Movies like this make me wonder why so many people are so brain-dead.If you like seeing explosion after explosion after explosion,god awful humor,and seeing a teenage girl in short shorts,than this is the movie for you. 1.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Grade:F I was disappointed with The Amazing Spider-Man 2,I hated Maleficent,I hated Transformers:Age of Extinction.No movie this year will ever compare to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.I....HATED....THIS...MOVIE.I love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,but this movie absolutely destroyed the Ninja Turtles for me.Where do I start with this movie?I hated the acting in this movie.Megan Fox,Will Arnett,William Fichtner were all terrible in this movie,especially Megan Fox.I hate Megan Fox,and she absolutely destroyed the character of April ONeil.The story of this movie was absolutely horrible and the thing I hated the most about the movie was the Turtles origin story.Unlike the comics where the turtles were mutated by green slime and were trained by a rat named Splinter who learned ninjutsu from his owner Hamato Yoshi and he named the turtles after famous Renaissance painters and taught them the art of ninjutsu,instead we get another origin story.Here,they are April ONeils pets,she names them,and she puts them in the sewer.To add insult,Splinter learns the art of ninjutsu from a book he found in the sewers.ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!The origin story in this movie made me want to kill myself.They also made the Foot Clan a bunch of commandos packing heat instead of ninjas.The reason why they are called the Foot Clan is because they step over people.WHAT?!?!The turtles look nothing like turtles and they look scary as well.Shredder looked like Megatron from the Transformers films more than he did the Shredder from the comics.The movie didnt even feel like the Ninja Turtles either.The movie feels like a Michael Bay movie with the Turtles thrown in there although Michael Bay was the producer of the movie.The movie has a lot of plot-holes as well.At the end,Shredder has a can of mutagen and he falls with it,but Im wondering how the Turtles got mutagen to heal Splinter.Plot-hole!William Fichtners character serves no purpose whatsoever.Also,Karai is in the movie and shes a useless character as well.How do you make Karai useless?!The humor....dont even get me started on the humor in this movie.The movies final act is also a complete rip-off of the final act of The Amazing Spider-Man.Watch Amazing Spider-Man and then this and tell me if the final act of that movie is similar to this final act.GOD,I HATE THIS MOVIE.STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MOVIE.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III was better than this garbage.After seeing this,I want to get Dominos Pizza,watch the cartoon show, and cry. So that was my worst movies of 2014 list.I dont have any other lists planned for now.I might catch up on some movies that I havent seen yet.Go to Rotten Tomatoes if you want to see my reviews.
