Yesterday I learned a few things about what it means to be a parent. Fifteen minutes before leaving for Nashville to see Bethel I missed the last stair while holding Eliora. I caught most of her fall but she still managed to bump her head on the door frame in the process. Needless to say I had to forgo the Nashville trip for an ER trip. Everything checked out fine, save for the bruise on her head (that actually looks a million times better now) and a scraped up hand. Now we are up every two hours to check on her just to make sure everything is ok. Moral to the story - as a parent, accidents happen and you just have to trust that someone greater is in control. There is, and His name is Jesus. :-) Only a small bruise remains of what could have possibly been a nasty fall with severe head injury, not to mention the fact that Im ok (save for some soreness). Eliora and I were both miraculously protected. :-) And yeah it totally stinks that I missed Bethel! But I wouldnt trade all the concerts in the world for the safety and well being of my child. This girl is totally worth it, and I am so in love with her! Her mother too!
