Yesterday, I saw the movie of Cesar Chavez; Seeing this man fight for his people and his belief of the truth, showed me once again that our race and our culture is greatly and beautifully designed by God. Who are we? Some say…. Poor people, uneducated people, ignorants, immigrants, illegals, gangsters, drug addicts, loud people, aliens, ugly, short, brown, minority, and so many other things… But this is not true… “Latinos” Indigenous people from Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Ecuador, Bolivia, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Cuba, Republica Dominicana, Puerto Rico, ARE ONE IN CULTURE. My race was created from the soil of the earth like any other race. People full of colors, not in our face because is brown, but in our clothes, in our paintings, in our countries, in our nature, in our animals, in our houses, in our architecture, in our drawings, in our songs… we are full of colors. We like to stay together; it doesn’t matter if we have a big or small family, we like to spend time with everybody. We like to put our music in FULL VOLUME…and make big parties. We understand what means to fight for what we LOVE, that is why we are so determined even if we die in the attempt; we do it until we achieved it. We are humble people and dreamers. We like to work hard for a better future for our next generations. We don’t conform to the idea of only use the products of this country, but we also like to build businesses… even if is a small truck of tacos…:) We like to eat our traditional food. We are a hard headed race that is not easy broken by law. We are a race with strong values. We are kind and loving… We are warmth in heart. We like to give hugs to new people and treat them like family. We like to share our food with others. We prefer to speak our own language than adopt any other … we make other people seek a way to understand us…LOL! We like to have children. We are strict with them because we want the best for them… we are constantly looking a way to provide our children the things we didn’t have as children…We like to fight to protect our brothers and sisters. We love God. You may be not identifying yourself with everything I just said, but with something I bet you do… I don’t think we are perfect; I think we are in a process to be better everyday like any other race. I wrote only the good not to be bias about it, it’s just that many of us tend to look down in ourselves and compare to others because we lack of identity. I have much more good to say… about my people… But now, I am just going to say that this generation has the responsibility to preserve our culture and also bring better things to it… I know we have SO MUCH potential to do great things… :) God gave each race something beautiful… Asian, African American, White, European, Native indigenous and all the other races of the WORLD are beautiful :) Because we have a wonderful Creator… GOD, who designed us with true and pure LOVE.
