Yesterday I was about ten car lengths behind another car and getting ready to pass him when the driver suddenly lost all control of the vehicle. First, the car turned sideways and slid about halfway off the left side of the road with the rear tires still on the pavement. Clouds of dust and sand were flying up from the front wheels and clouds of burning rubber from the rear wheels. Then the car slid back onto the pavement and did a complete 360 degree spin. During the spin the car turned up so high to one side I could see the entire underside of it. It didnt turn over but when all four wheels hit the pavement again the car was still doing about 50 mph...in reverse. He then did another 360 spin and one of the rear doors flew open. After sliding about 50 yards sideways on the highway the car ran off the right side of the road backwards and came to a stop. I stopped and ran down to the car to see if anyone was hurt. There were four pretty well shaken guys getting out of the car. Nobody was hurt. The car didnt have a scratch on it. Didnt even need a wrecker to pull it back on the road. After standing there a few minutes one of the guys thanked me for stopping to help. I told him I was glad to try and help but I was afraid I didnt have any of the only thing they probably needed.......toilet paper.
