Yesterday I went along Carters Ledge, did the Three Sisters, then - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I went along Carters Ledge, did the Three Sisters, then went down on Piper. Talk about a loop that covered everything. When I started the Piper Trail, I had on my microspikes. Didn’t think I would be needing my snowshoes from all the posts of ice in the past. For the first mile, wasn’t even sure I needed microspikes because of all the exposed leaves on the trail, but every time I thought of taking them off, I would hit ice patches that convince me to keep them on. Then beyond Carters Ledge, I wished I had packed my crampons. And over the Three Sisters, snowshoes could’ve been handy. My apologizes for the postholes [I know how some of us are about “postholing”]. Of course, I have to admit, the only other prints I had followed along the Three Sisters were frozen postholes of a previous hiker, that really helped me out a a few sketchy parts [not just for direction, but for footing].
