Yesterday I went to the Opera House in Brooklyn to see the play, - TopicsExpress

Yesterday I went to the Opera House in Brooklyn to see the play, The Old Woman, starring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Willem DeFoe. It was a vaudeville type presentation demanding many different talents from each of them. They had to reach, in order to stage the intensive scenes. Neither came to the stage door between the matinee and evening performances. I went shopping near the Barclays Center and returned before the late performance was over. Anton Yelkin and Susan Sarandon were two celebrities who saw the Play and went backstage. They autographed for us as they went by. I had a chance to tell Susan how much I enjoyed the Broadway Play she was in that I saw last year. Soon Willem DeFoe came out and spent a huge amount of time satisfying fan requests. He was engaging. There only about 20 of us. 8 had showed up without seeing the Play and wanted autographs on memorabilia. 11 had seen the evening performance. Mikhail came out and cheerfully waved to everyone and proceeded to his car. When the requests bombarded him, he said he first had to put his shoulder case into the car. He then turned and signed for everyone, refusing to pose for photographs with people mentioning that that would be a bit much. He indicated that people could take photos of him as he was signing, but he didnt want to do artificial posing with a variety of different people he didnt know. Once he had signed for everyone, he motioned for a lady and clean cut boy to join him at the car. He ushered them in, he got in, and they left. I presume they were his daughter by Angella Lange and her son, his grandson; but Im just guessing. Recently I went to the Morgan Library again. This time to see a rare original version of The Star Spangled Banner. Also I saw their viewing of The Thin Man. It was shown in support of their Great Gatsby Exhibit, because it is a famous New York film. Earlier in the week I went to Coney Island for the Mets minor league team, The Cyclones, Jersey Thursday game. It was a lot of fun. Many Players signed autographs for us fans pregame and we cheered for them when they came to bat. The Jersey they gave out to the first 3000 was soccer style in support of the World Cup. The Cyclones beat the Orioles Ironbirds 6-2! On the subway ride home I talked with a couple who had just entertained a Russian childrens party with magic tricks and balloon animals. They asked my favorite color and made some pink ones for me. They were happy and delightful and glad to be generous.
