Yesterday Whit and I ran to Walmart and as we walked in, we - TopicsExpress

Yesterday Whit and I ran to Walmart and as we walked in, we noticed this young man soliciting in front of the giant orange No Soliciting signs. Whitney and I commented how totally rude that was and how the store manager should really do something about people like that. As we approached him, he complimented me on my cap (camo, ha ha) and Whitney on her smile. Didnt ask for money. We overheard him say something kind to another woman as she walked in behind us, Ok, I realize that might have been part of the ploy but he was very genuine and although Whitney and I didnt need anything, we got a bottle of water to break a $5 so I could give him a couple bucks on the way out. As we approached him, he was having a conversation with an older woman. He told us after she left that he asked her how she was doing today, and she confided that she had recently lost her husband and had been really sad. It meant a lot to her that a complete stranger asked her now she was doing. He went on to say that he likes to remind people that they arent alone, and that even when they feel that way, God is always with them to comfort them. I dont know what my point is, except that I dont think I will be so quick to harshly judge the guy soliciting in front of the no soliciting sign again.
