Yesterday afternoon, for the second time in a year-and-a-half, my mother had a fall. She just lost her balance and went down, hard, on the kitchen floor. She has a cracked pelvis and a broken right shoulder, and is in quite a bit of pain, but at least for right now they dont think shes going to need surgery (for which shes a terrible candidate). I just spoke to her and her spirits are actually pretty good, but after a few days of stabilizing at the hospital, shes going to have to be in a re-hab center for a while. So I have no idea when shes going to be able to come home again. Her recovery from that last, much more catastrophic, fall has been very slow and very incomplete. So another trauma to her body is the last thing she needed. Any thoughts or prayers will be deeply appreciated. (I waited until now to post this news because there was one person I had to contact by phone first, so she wouldnt find out about this on FB)
