Yesterday, as I was driving Kate to Olney for field hockey, Mike - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, as I was driving Kate to Olney for field hockey, Mike was working and Brendan was out getting ready for college, Leo and Colin were home alone, nothing to do (except, you know, math packets and SAT prep). Wandering around the house, they found a 10 foot long plastic pole on our back deck (I think from when a rug was delivered) They ran to the attic to get a similarly sized bamboo pole (why is that in my house) so they can have some sort of MMA-Ninja battle. Why? Because boys are stupid. And I mean that in a loving way. The part of their brain that says This is a bad idea. Someone could get hurt doesnt function until they are about 35. Colin plants a foot on a tree, does a 360, swings around and hits Leo square in the head. Fortunately, just the top of the head. No concussion, no severe damage. Just a lot of blood. Fortunately Colin is first aid certified. He asked for permission to treat the victim, took the screaming obscenities as implied consent. Applied pressure, took the victim into the house (using the mudroom door so as not to bloody the family room #ocdfam) Cleaned the wound, applied Neosporin. Then realized victim might need stitches. (Still hasnt called mom or dad) So he calls our neighbor, who is working from home, and left strict instructions not to be disturbed unless someone needs to go to the hospital. Um, ok. While waiting for neighbor to arrive, Colin hoses down sidewalk to wash away the blood #reallyocd. Neighbor arrives, calls me, takes boys to Sibley were Leo gets three staples in his head. #thankful for good neighbors. Staples will be out before High 5 Mat Club starts....
