Yesterday at approximately 3:45 I encountered a post, only 5 minutes old, of threats made to our Mt Sinai School district. I immediately reported it to the school and assisted them via texting. (This is a popular social media app that I have been monitoring for bullying because of its anonymity) by 10:30 last night an arrest was made of a High School student. 1) please educate your children that any app that claims to be anonymous is not. It may not post your personal information, but with law/legal force they can track you down. 2) please explain to your children any threat they make is an act of terrorism and will not be tolerated. Any threat (prank or not) to a school district is a federal offence. Bullying via apps will not be tolerated as well. Please speak to your children. If you have the attitude not my child then you are living in a bubble. They are minors. You are the parent. Take charge, take their phone and educate yourself on what they have been involved in. I guarantee it will shock you.
