Yesterday, many people on my FB list posted this link: ireport.cnn/docs/DOC-1023053. Today, this article is doing the rounds: ireport.cnn/docs/DOC-1023426. Posted on the same site, written by another foreigner. I have strong views on the one posted yesterday...rather, the way it was written and the way India was portrayed. Not because I am feeling patriotic and protective towards India, but because I found it to be too judgemental and generalizing. There is a lot of truth in it, but thats not what an Indian experience is for every single woman who visits or lives here. How ever, thats my opinion. Maybe, every time we read something like this, while it does make our blood boil, and while we do relate to bits of it, we need to pull back a bit and actually think if all of it really does make sense. Personal experiences, however unfortunate they might be, cannot be put across like thats what a country is all about. PS - The views expressed in this status are mine...please do express yours but lets not turn it into an argument here. For that, lets meet and have a discussion over a drink and a good meal. :)
