Yesterday morning around 6:00 when I was on my way to work I nearly ran over a dark object on the road that at first glance looked like a backpack or a jacket. When I swerved around it I noticed a pair of legs sticking out of the jacket. My heart jumped up into my throat as I hit the breaks. It was a body! Lord, please dont let him be dead I prayed as I dialed 911 and backed my car up to block traffic. Just then I heard sobbing and crying coming from the body, Thank God, shes still breathing I thought. It was a woman lying face down on the road, straight as a board on the passenger side tire tracks between 5th and 6th streets on Silver. Before I could finish explaining this to 911 dispatch, an off duty sheriff was the second car on the scene, she made sure the woman was ok and I continued on to go to work, thanking The Lord I hadnt just killed someone.
