Yesterday my son decided he was going to go the Perth city - the problem is that 1. He told no one 2. He is only 12 years old 3. He didnt take any money or water 4. But he did take his sisters bike 5. He didnt wear a helmet nor a hat 6. Nor did he not have sun cream on 7. He rode all through north Freo, Claremont into City - went to one of the train stations to watch the trains 8. He then proceeded to ride home via freeway cycle way 9. Got bike troubles near canning hwy bridge so dumped bike 10. He then proceeded on foot down hwy to Reynolds road to Garden City where he stopped and checked out JB HIFI - he then went down Marmion st and took a shortcut across to Leach hwy after checking out the burnt out spare parts auto shop in Melville He then continued to stock road (very distressed at this stage where someone finally spotted him and phoned police) he then walked down sainsbury crossed over carrington then headed down Watkins (mind u it would have been long dark by now ) on his way to the Valley Feast - where his family were supposed to be going - this is around the corner from home He was recognised there by one of the valley mums - thank u so so so much - and was then reunited with his mum where he asked for his dad 10. He was gone for 11 long hrs 11. Saved this bit til last - for those who dont know - William is Autistic and a very very special boy & very very lucky x So today I am still emotionally drained - in fact think we all are - but thank everyone for their thoughts, wishes and help it hasnt gone unnoticed
