Yesterday, my wife nominated me for the gratitude journal going around on Facebook and I gratefully accept her nomination. The first day is exceptionally easy for me anyway ;) 1) I am grateful for that one fateful day in College Park, when a beautiful girl turned to me and asked me if I used to live in Easton Hall. Her friends were busy, my friends were busy, and so we started talking. Fast forward and I have been married to that girl for almost 18 years and we have been together for more than 20 years. The time has flown by and it has been filled with laughter and love. Sara Uehling Richards makes me feel grateful every day that one of the most loving, intelligent, funny, and beautiful people I have ever known has chosen to be by my side all this time. 2) I am grateful for my son, Nate Richards. Nathan takes more risks and has tried more things than I had the confidence to do at his age. I love to watch him play with little kids and he has a great imagination when it comes to writing. I know what a special young man he is and although it has been hard watching him grow up so quickly, I am very proud of him and I wouldnt change a thing. 3) I am grateful for my daughter, Lily Richards. The little girl who was wheeled away from our arms because she wasnt breathing in NICU has become a firecracker. Listening to her sing, you never would guess that she had any lung problems! She has a special way of making people smile and I especially love the way she compliments random people. Lily has a great ability to make friends and I very much look forward to our conversations. You never know what that girl will start talking about!
