Yesterday....our momma woulda been 79 WOW!! Its funny how as time goes on the memories are thankfully still so vivid. This bday i reflected and focused on very different things than ever before. My own mind kinda surprised me. I focused more upon my dad and how much he loved my mom. Far from a perfect marriage since there is no such thing but that man gave his whole life selflessly to her and his family. Not just his wife and children either. To his mother & father whom he worked side by side with and took care of his mom after his father passed. He takes care of his brother whom needs all of us. I know some have said certain things and judged certain things and thought things should be done different and such and THANKFULLY none of it affected my parents negative. They always and still continue to care for and do what they think is best. Without judgements ever on anyone else. My dad is a great wonderful man in his own special way. Family is his core and his whole being. He loves his massive garden he puts his blood sweat and tears into 7 days a week approx 300 days a year still. They raised us with hard core values and respect. No they did not take us to church every Sunday but let me tell you....my parents worshipped and had a faith in God that we did pray, we did learn and read our bibles and were taught how to live by the 10 commandments. Its those values that have gave me great guilt in being the only one in my family to get divorced once and almost twice. My parents fought out their problems behind closed doors. Never once did they fight in front of us. They were affectionate and playful with each other. Sorry for such a long post but sometimes i feel some do not totally know my dad since he is a quiet unspoken man. Ive yet to have the gift my mom got of a great provider and faithful husband. Im just thankful God gave me these 2 wonderful parents and i sure do miss my momma!!! Im done rambling the thoughts of the day LOL
