Yesterday was 13 months since you departed. I had no idea how much I would miss you, how lonely life would be, how much it would hurt, how you would occupy my every thought and how talking to thin air would become my norm. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I could be so needy. I just want to let others know through my ramblings how important it is to cherish what you have, tell those around you how much you care, especially if that person is confused or suffering from dementia. Its important to continue to treat them normally, even if you think they dont know or wont remember, because, you will remember, believe me, you will remember! I can remember the things he said, the look in his eyes, the smile on his face, the touch of his hand, I can remember, thank God, I can remember because memories are all I have now.
