Yesterday was Medieval Monday... so, chronologically speaking, today should be Renaissance Tuesday. It addresses a number of historical occurrences that led to the evolution of music, with an emphasis on the acquisition of art/music/poetry as symbols of power and status. Could this manifestation of the generally unobtainable been the precursor to many peoples reluctance to become engaged in the arts today. Do they prefer less complex music because it is, to them, more of the people?
