Yesterday was a emotional day , Hillsboro was a terrible tragedy where the police made a fatal error when a naive commanding officer , made a decision to open up a gate . When faced with a absolute sea of angry drunk young men arriving late for a football match, As a united fan , who regularly had to suffer the abuse of Liverpool fans in the 80s aeroplane gestures and countless goading . It took a tragedy of that proportion to stop those sick jibes. 15 year old Victoria hicks is featured in the times today who died at Hillsboro . And any Chelsea moron who sang during the minutes silence . Should read this story , but only the Chelsea fans with a brain would buy that paper ( not me by the way , I read the sun ) I heard about it on the telly. Victoria 15 used to write a match report after every game and keep it under her bed , weve all got passion like that as fans . She wasnt drinking she arrived early with her sister and mum and dad. She had a ticket she was excited and couldnt wait to see the great teams of the 80s that so many of my mates love Todd Ington Holder, Alex hinder, Martin Brock, paul Woodward , they all loved dalglish sourness Johnstone ,whelan , houghton what a team now I can appreciate it. But in all this us football fans must remember one thing , I went to Milan in 99 (ticketless ) and managed to get in ! And I went to fergies farewell at west brom and saw how bottlenecks occur and angry young men react when they try to get in desperately . Im no better than those Liverpool fans that help cause that tragedy but the police were despicable and there actions were unforgivable but dont get misty eyed remember those Liverpool fans have blood on there hands as well . And quite easily I could have had in 99 , its a dangerous game . I think it would be a fitting tribute to Victoria if Liverpool won the prem this year and Ive changed my mind as I write this article I want them to win it and thats incredible. Coming from me as many of you know me really well And have known my feelings for united . It was a top atmosphere and a fitting tribute to the 96 Sunday but for Victoria and Steven Gerard who has led his team and country with so much pride and dignity through this , yea get 19 weve still got one more . And you cant do the treble . Amen
