Yesterday was combine day 5.......Frustrating on many levels. First I felt like a foreigner with another language as my directions in this field are always turned around....so when Loren talked about south I would have to translate as I think west is north so that would mean south is opposite of real north which is my east. Well that works OK when I need to figure it out going 3 miles an hours....but when he gives complex directions...... cut headlands east and west by the power poles on the south area and then go north and south with auto steer but dont go south of the big slough That about did me in......So when he gets on the radio and starts to scream, I just go the other way......(And the whole time I am combining in circles around the sloughs.) To make a frustrating day worse the combine broke down at the end of the day.....I was so afraid it was something I did so I called Kristy (all the money I paid for her farmer degree HAS certainly paid off for me) to see if it WAS something I did...She reassured me.....when I told Loren I called Kristy he asked why I didnt ask him......REALLY
