Yesterday was like Christmas.. Details, details, details... I - TopicsExpress

Yesterday was like Christmas.. Details, details, details... I finally landed after a 12 hour day at the office.. I fell into bed with a pad, pencils and design details. Ive raided the On Demand closet so much that its empty and, for some reason, Ive avoided Begin Again, but last night I caved and pressed the button. The movie is indie sap - Mark Ruffalo and Keira Knightly - It almost drives off the cliff into the chasm of manipulative mellowdrama - but doesnt. I was telling Tom and Marie today that its like me stalking a Keebler elves masterpiece in the cabinet but never falling prey to their siren song of sweet, sugary indulgence.. Midway through the movie, I was really digging the soundtrack. I pulled up the details on my information source aka iPhone and it packed a wallop. Sideline: My favorite band, song, album, creative musical endeavor of all time is Maybe Youve Been Brainwashed Too by a little known band called the New Radicals. It was fronted, written and produced by a prodigy named Gregg Alexander and produced one big hit - You Get What You Give. For me, its my favorite pop record ever. I love every single song and never get tired of it. They only made one, theyve never toured again and havent reunited since. Its my go to. In addition to Alexander, Danielle Brisebois, the actress who played Archie Bunkers granddaughter on All in the Family was his writing partner and keyboard player in the band. When I pulled up the details of the soundtrack, she showed up along with Alexander as having co-written the songs for the movie. I could feel myself starting to turn into geeked out 16 year old guy jones-ing for the it. I immediately bought the soundtrack and have been making out with it all day. Its like believing you lost something in a fire and realizing that it was under the bed. This is just one track but its the best thing Ive discovered in a long time.. The fact that Adam Levine kills it in a good way is just icing on the cake. Hi, my name is Steve and I am a geeked out mess that loves music, details and little surprises like this.
