Yesterday was one of my favorite days as a Mom! (Warning: This may be long, but I have to get it all out because it was just that AWESOME!) A few months ago I posted on here about a cool new American Ninja Warrior competitor who had alopecia - Jackson was already a huge fan of the show, but watching Kevin Bull compete and talk about how cool he thought it was to be completely bald was just too cool in his little mind! He was his number one fan and cheered him on each round. When it came time for his 7th birthday party, he jumped at the chance to have an American Ninja Warrior party and set up obstacles just like on the show! He had one request - could he invite Kevin the Bull to his birthday? One of the wonderful things about Facebook is the ability to meet and connect with people you never would have otherwise. We have met some wonderful people in the alopecia world - including the owner of a company called MondoBaldo - it is a clothing company that makes shirts with positive and funny sayings about being bald. The owner of the company was able to help me get in touch with Kevin directly and after telling him about Jackson and what a huge fan he is, Kevin agreed to make a surprise appearance at his birthday party!! This has been such a hard secret to keep! Jackson knew I invited him, but all I would tell him was Maybe buddy, well have to wait and see! Hes very busy training... Yesterday when we arrived at the gymnastics studio and the kids were all pumped up and ready to get started, Kevin walked out and the look on Jacksons face was priceless!! This guy was so cool - he stayed the whole time just running and jumping and playing with the kids. He raced them in obstacles, showed them some cool tricks, even played hide and seek with them and just had fun! After it was over, one of Jacksons friends told him Im going to invite you to my birthday, too! I couldnt help but stand back and just watch and hold the happy tears in. My boy is so lucky and so blessed in so many ways! Im not friends with Kevin directly on here so I can tag him in this post, but I cant thank him enough for helping us make my boys birthday so awesome!! And thank you to all our friends and family who came and helped keep our secret - this will be a birthday hes going to remember forever! Many many more pictures and videos to come!
