Yesterday was very interesting by far. My family and I were driving in a upscale neighborhood in Michigan called Royal Oak. Deitrick was looking for a particular store so he was driving slowly. Long story short, we got pulled over by a police officer. We were pulled over for not using the turn signal when turning. He called for back up as well. He went through the procedure. Since we are renting a car with out of state plates, we didnt have what he needed outside of a license & the rental agreement. I was the one to be driving but we were on a tight time schedule & he knows it better than I do, so he drove. Furthermore, he began to give us instructions as to how we should conduct ourselves from this point on. With all that is going on, I wasnt bothered by being pulled over, I was more bothered by what the cop said. It felt like he was antagonizing us. While hes discussing with us why he pulled us over, He stated things like we dont want anything to happen like weve seen onTV!? 👀 When I asked to get my license, he responded as long as you dont have a bazooka or a grenade! 👀 In my mind Im like why would I have any of those items and a few expletives! 😁My attitude click, but I masked it with a smile because I wanted to ask what are you implying, but the God in me said shut it! My husband, was noticeably bothered because the cop wanted a reason to arrest him if not me! It was so weird and so unnecessary! He couldnt issue a ticket so I guess he wanted to teach us something. I dont know. 😒 Its not so much a race thing for me,even though the cop was white, I was more disappointed in his disrespect for us and our intelligence. Something that was so minor couldve been corrected in a short sweet conversation, but I guess that was wishful thinking. 😐 I just advise every human to govern yourselves accordingly when dealing with law enforcement! Comply and only answer the questions they ask. Thought Id share! ✌️
