Yesterday we drove by Pets Plus on Rt 1, in Stafford. Decided to go back and see what kind of rabbit cages/supplies they had. Everything seemed overpriced. I walked around looking at the fish, birds, small animals and then ended up on the other side of the store where they have dogs/cats. I could not believe the price they had for the puppies/young dogs they had there. A beautiful bulldog puppy for $3100. Really? I was going to ask where they get their dogs and cats from, but I doubt they would admit or even know if they were puppy mill puppies. How many dogs could you rescue for $3100. What happens to these dogs/cats if no one adopts them?Prices in pet shops are always too high. Why do people even go there? Yes they are cute, but what do you know about them or their parents. I cant and wont support puppy mills. If pet stores are going to sell dogs and cats, I believe they should be ready to give you contact info on the breeder.
