Yesterday, we found out that a tumor caused Rhodys auto-immune - TopicsExpress

Yesterday, we found out that a tumor caused Rhodys auto-immune reaction and there is nothing more the vet can do for her. The team recommended euthanization and its an option Ive milled over quite a bit--but I dont think its the right decision for her yet. She has stopped bleeding, drinks plenty of water, walks around when she gets antsy, potties pretty regularly, and even eats some of her special food when I offer it. Shes never been one to complain and seems comfortable at home. She perks up at the mention of her favorite things, places, and people--and wags her tail for special visitors. Shes been laying with Wes most of today with her head on his lap. I wanted some kind of sign to help us understand what to do. I prayed that I would gain the strength to guide her into death if I needed and the discernment to understand when that comes, but todays behavior has given me some confirmation that she isnt ready for me to do that. I wish I could take her outside to lay in the backyard sun because I know she wants to be on the porch. Luckily, her chair sits in the one spot of the living room that gets all of the dining rooms natural light, and she seems to enjoy snoozing and cuddling in her special spot. I dont think she wants to give in yet.
