What you are doing is quite outstanding and something that should have been done long ago. The days of bland austerity have gone and there is no reason why the public should tolerate the ordinary any more. I went to see your Skelwith bridge, Staveley bridge and Rydal bridge and as a person interested in bridges was very impressed. I built the Grasmere bridge on the same river and the concrete bridge in Staveley, both of which are showing the ravages of 50 years and may be a future commission.
