Yesterday we went piano shopping. I sold mine because shipping it would have been more expensive than replacing it. I always assumed I would buy another upright but the piano shop cleverly gave me a large piano-shaped (pianoid?) sheet of paper that could be folded into various sizes to represent a variety of baby grand pianos and what we learned is, we have a perfect spot between the fireplace and the window to the deck for a 51 baby grand. Im thinking white with candelabras and a rack for glittery scarves. Now that I have this design information, my brain vehemently rejects anything else. Our budget does not include such a purchase. Our budget is blown. It was blown by the time we reached Iowa. Moving is expensive. And we suck at budgeting. I wanna baby grand so I can turn my living room into a west coast parlour salon version of Maries Crisis. Think of the fundraising we could do there! Ill buy it! Ill do it for the children! Thats my excuse and Im sticking to it.
