Yesterday when I was helping a friend move I saw that he had a bunch of scrap computers. Most would see this as garbage for good reasoning but I couldnt help but to wonder how much gold was in these scrap computer parts so I did a little research. Turns out an average computer yields about $9 of gold, obviously this is not very much but if you had a bunch that would add up. The recovery process is quite extensive but if you held onto your scraps and collected parts over the years then the potential payoff could be pretty good IF we ever went back to a gold standard. Ive heard estimates that if this did happen gold prices could sky rocket from the current price of just under $2,000 per oz. to $10,000-30,000 per oz. So in conclusion it would be wise to look into rare metal investing or if you have some extra space collecting certain spare electronics. Some economists have noticed an increase in Chinas gold mining operations because of this possibility as well. I just mostly wanted to share what I found from my quick research in case anyone else ever wondered. I think that being able to see opportunity in the strangest of places is a skill that is shared amongst every entrepreneur but admittedly not in this specific area of computer scraps lol. -Brandon Lyons- How to recover gold from electronics: https://youtube/watch?v=iCmXLXrAtto&list=PL297851094CDA086A How Much Gold Is In Smartphones and Computers: techpageone.dell/technology/how-much-gold-is-in-smartphones-and-computers/#.VAocrPldWSo
