Yesterdays drive to Windermere was more than just a tad interesting. Thanks to my silly Sat Nav it took me right up over the Kirkstone Pass. Lovely! Not a minute to glance at the gorgeous scenery due to very narrow roads.... Talk about a white knuckle ride. That was it. Heart racing, sweaty palms, the lot! Who ever painted the white lines on the road was having a laugh, its pretty much a single track road with the occasional passing places. Then I disappeared right into the clouds and could hardly see anything at all! Got to laugh, theres me struggling up steep hills in a 4 wheel drive and a cyclist is merrily tootling along up the steep inclines looking none too short of breath. I do love an adventure but I wont be choosing that route again unless Im sightseeing next time.
