York County Detectives need help in finding the owner of USMC Rings YORK COUNTY, SC – On December 8th 2014 a concerned citizen from the Clover area called the York County Sheriff’s Office to report she had found three United States Marine Corps rings in her Kitchen while cleaning. Fearing the rings were either stolen or lost, the citizen contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Ring 1: Yellow gold ring with red center stone and the Inscription of United States Marines around the stone. Eagle, Globe, and Anchor on one side of ring and an etching of Iwo Jima Flag posting on other side of ring. Ring 2: Silver or white gold ring with red center stone and eagle, globe, and anchor on center stone. Vietnam Veteran inscribed around center stone, Vietnam ribbon with republic of Vietnam service on one side of ring. Also and etching of Vietnam Memorial with words you are not forgotten on the other side of the ring. There is some writing inscribed on inner band of ring. Ring 3: Yellow gold ring with red center stone and eagle, globe, and anchor on stone. United States Marines inscribed around center stone. Tun Tavern with a building and the year 1775 etched on one side. On the other side is the picture of Iwo Jima flag raising and the year 1945. The case is still under investigation, and Detectives would like to locate and speak to the owner or owners of the rings. If someone can positively identify and prove they are the owner of the rings, they are asked to contact Detective Tracy Strickland at 803-628-3059.
