You are much more than your thoughts and when your own thinking threatens to overwhelm you in any way, or to bring you down, it is wonderful to know that you can meet this with compassion and not blame. You can pray, May I be well and happy...may I feel peace. And I would suggest that you do this slowly and gently until your physical body as well as your mind accept that deep reassurance. You can also tune the mind more positively by enquiring of yourself what soul strengths you need for this moment. Praying, we discover again that we do have inner resources, that we can reach inwards as well as outwards, and - essentially - that we are not alone. This is not a matter of belief but of gentle experience that you can only give to yourself. I dont know which of you may be in particular need today, nor who in our world most needs to be held in prayer, but prayer - the energy of profound care and hope - is one of the most life-saving gifts we can give one another. It is also a life-saving gift to ourselves. May there be peace in your hearts, healing in your lives, and peace in our world.
