You cant count on presidential guards to protect you against the military. In 1974 when three junior military officers drove in Ethiopian Imperial palace the elite guard just looked on as the emperor was pushed into a beetle VW vehicle and drove him away and never to be seen again. There are also cases when rulers were murdered by one of their body guards. To avoid all this develop inclusive societies where everyone gets a slice of the cake. Herding people into slums and in the Diaspora is a recipe for trouble. And if preemptive measures are not taken a revolution will not be avoided in Uganda because Ugandans are watching what is happening in the neighborhood like Burkina Faso. South Africans were encouraged to sacrifice and liberate themselves no matter the cost after all their neighbors were liberated. I was in the region and I am speaking from first hand experience.
