You could scratch your head as The Age says scientists are doing, but really Bishop is simply playing with the semantics of argument. This is an unscrupulous human with no regard for right or wrong or humanity. She knows Obama is almost full term and with Republican and Christian Right control of every US political institution except the Presidency, she is playing on the side of Corporate Capital, who dont give a rats about future. She follows the practice that kept Howard in govt for so long. By making a blatantly untrue statement you generate argument as to whether the truth is true. As soon as you have argument you are able to discredit the truth and act on the lie. To argue with the lie is to give it the power of a possible truth. Better to ignore her seemingly outrageous, ill informed statements. She knows what makes news and shes playing the news media (not that its hard to play) to raise argument. Better to ignore her entirely.
