You have free will and when you choose to say “no,” you don’t have to feel like you’ve got to elaborate. Remember that when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He didn’t make excuses. He didn’t say, “You know, devil, I would fall down and worship you, but I just don’t feel like it today.” Jesus simply said,“It is written…” which basically meant ‘NO. It’s wrong and I’m not doing it. I’m doing what God says no matter what you tempt me with.’ Stand strong in your convictions and keep resisting. Don’t let impulses or the devil get to you.
