You know, Im glad in a way Kepler-186f, the first Earth-like planet we have identified, is 500 light years away. A million or more years of space travel. Our civilization is not ready for that sort of stuff. Lets be honest about it: if we managed to land on another inhabited planet today we would kill every living being and plunder whatever resources we could lay our hands on. And fight over them among ourselves. Kill each other over the right to plunder, enslave and kill others. Or do you think Im being too negative?
