You know, as a former Police officer Ive heard some people defend the actions of cops in these out of hand shootings. From e experience, training. And knowledge of departmental policy, shooting a subject without visually observing a weapon or being fired upon is not justifiable. Thats not how officers are trained. Neither are they trained to shoot first and claim fear of life later. Yes, the mentality is to be tried by a Jury of 12 verses not going home, but this wave of jargon in fear for my life is a pen to paper separtment report wording used. to cover an officers Ass.(not a cuss word) but you see, if the justice system start prosecuting officers everytime someone is shot then control will be lost. Criminals and the general public would start defiance, thereby having no respect for authority. Theres many other factors why these shootings have blasted out of control. When someone is given a license to kill, its a power too enormous to control.
