You know it is cold when you practice the organ and look around at wooden choir chairs and pews and think of chopping them up for fire wood so you can feel your fingers as you play. A little bonfire in the sanctuary would have been nice. I think I shall invest in a small space heater but unless I can blow it on my fingers it will be a moot point. I had forgotten how much fun it was to practice in the dark and now cold. And no, I wont ask the church to turn the heat on just for me nor buy me a heater. No one does church work for the money. No one. So if I want a little heater I will get it and not bother anyone. I have never had any luck practicing the keys with mittens on either.
