You know what? Its been a fun week of making actual things from raw material that will perform their function in outer space. The best part is, making sure the material doesnt warp, it is stress relieved through various top secret processes, made, formed, drilled... everything done to reduce the stress, yet keep it economical to remove material. Fixtures to hold it stress free. Making 9 parts out of one piece of round. Hardened metal wears out your cutting surfaces, yet the most economical way of removal still leaves a lot of material to remove. Then you have to calculate for expansion when you cut the petals away from the stem- hence the 9 pieces that have to measure perfect over a mathematical projection. Thats why I laugh at others that peddle or push paper for a living. I have to really plan out my manufacturing techniques to make it happen. It comes through experience. I create masterpieces of art that are not recognized because of visual beauty, yet they are beautiful and exceed finish specifications. I do stuff that cant be appreciated unless you understand datums , runouts of .0002 and a few other things like functionality & making things happen.
