You lose some, you win some. After 40 min stuck on Airport Frwy and running in dress shoes across Terminal A, I called out wait! unsuccessfully just as they were closing the gate door. I then faced a full day of standby for oversold flights. After being told repeatedly by gate agents for the next flight that I would NOT make standby on the oversold flight, I hung around anyway. Glad I did. After issuing final boarding call the agent rushed me in as the FINAL passenger to make the flight. As she was closing the door behind me, I heard someone running up to the gate yell, wait! Looking forward to the Political OutGiving conf.
