You may make a marriage proposal to a lady and she shuns you and another brother may propose to her and she accepts , a woman may give birth to 11 kids successfully, while another woman dies while giving birth to her first child, a person may wish to have cars but ends up not being able to purchase a bicycle in his entire lifetime, another person may not want much luxuries and ends up winning a car, while you go out seeking for job everyday without getting any, another person may be given a job offer in his house. This is the irony about Rizq. Rizq means worldly provisions, the things that a person has been predestined to get during his lifetime. What has been destined for someone else may be different from whats destined for you, and whats yours will always be yours . Ikhwaani, take it easy what was never meant to reach us will never get to us no matter how hard we try, be it a lady we admire or a Career Opportunity we seriously desire. And what is meant for us will get to us no matter how long it takes. This doesnt however mean we shouldnt seek means of livelihood and work hard, but let this be the cornerstone of our thoughts. Allaah is Ar Razzaq(the Provider) and He will send our provisions to us in its due time, nobody can take our rizq away from us, why not be patient and take things easy for ourselves instead of competing for the worldly things? We cant be cheated in our rizq and we cant get more than what has been predestined for us except through dua which Allaah may or may not accept depending on whether it is Khair or Sharr for us. Having all these in mind, life only becomes simpler and no one dies of heart attack or depression, indeed the life of a Muslim is simple. Why the worries when Allaah has taken care of everything. Someone was asked : “What is the secret of your piety?” He replied; I understood 4 things: 1. I understood my rizq cannot be taken by anyone so my heart is contended. 2. I understood no one can do my actions.(worship) so I started doing them myself. 3. I understood Allah Ta’ala is watching me, so I felt shame to do wrong. 4. I understood death is waiting for me so I started to prepare for my meeting with Allah Ta’ala. May Allah grant us this understanding!
