You may or may not know this...but in addition to the six pit bulls and two Dobies here, I also temporarily converted the spare room upstairs into a cat room to help with the Adams County cat rescue from last week and have a dozen felines for the next week. Dogs downstairs, cats upstairs; all was well until the two torties (go figure) somehow managed to open the door and venture downstairs into dog land while I was dropping Evan off. Luckily, none of the cats have had the first digits of their fingers amputated (or, declawed if that sounds better) and could hold their own just fine. Better than just fine the dogs all look horrified when I got home! Pitties-0 Kitties-1. If Misty was cat reactive before last night shes going to think twice about chasing tail again after the few good nose bops she got! Nature knows best and thats why I dont believe in declawing (or docking and cropping for that matter) or any medical procedure that affects an animals natural abilities for our convenience. Had those kitties lost their natural defense mechanisms it could have looked much different when I got home.
