You think racism/white supremacy is not a real thing? We are in a post racial society? This will show absolutely wrong and ignorant you are. I am sharing this because I am a mother. A mother of an American African girl. By now mine is no longer as young as this beautiful daughter, but her tears, voice, feelings, heart, and birthright on this planet and in her SKIN - and her mothers too - is the same as mine. We have to protect our people from these demons. We have to get our children to a safe, nurturing place far away from the demons who would practice the REFINEMENT of the system of racism/white supremacy that they set up for Africans and our descendants when they decided to steal our bodies from our homelands. These are onslaughts that our babies are, and have always been subjected to. And we learn very early to internalize, rationalize, sublimate these experiences. It manifests in self-hate, mental and physical disease, and apathy when we do not escape from it. We have clearly, HORRIBLY not escaped from it and itis driving us insane. You know it as well as I - even of youre afraid or ashamed to say it. My heart is in a tight knot. Thinking back to that age of my daughter when she was going to school or in social situations, she too heard ugly, hate-filled things that were directed at her very existence. And then I remember #rubybridges. So this kind of vemon has been being spewed for a long time. This is what is choking the LIFE out of us. LITERALLY! Unbelievable. But #ericgarner... If NOTHING else can, let this media move your entire being to get a real and effective understanding of what we Africans, our Ancestors, descendants, and people of color on this Earth endure everyday. And let this media ignite a passion in US that will fully and for good, eliminate racism/white supremacy and replace it with JUSTICE. To those who identify as white - who would align themselves with this noble and necessary work, please know: no quarter will be given. This war has been protracted long enough. NO CHILD, NO HUMAN BEING SHOULD EVER BE FORCED TO ENDURE THIS INHUMANITY. NO QUARTER WILL BE GIVEN. (May this beautiful child of the Universe be able to shake this off and be redeemed by the Whole World in the name of JUSTICE)
