You want to know about race in America; you need to ask me. For the first 17 years of my life, I lived in Haiti as a light skinned black man and the son of a Doctor. So race really, was not in my vocabulary. But when I moved to Boston in 1975, right smack in the middle of forced busing, i was quickly introduced to the race factor. I had to take care of business, but , if I tell you that racism did not affect me psychologically, I would be the biggest liar on earth. I went on from there to do some pretty good things in life..... But there iz not a day that goes by, where I can afford to forget that I am a black man in America, and , a lot of my white friends have no Idea, that I carry this extra burden with me ; day in and day out. It iz what it iz.
