You watch Disney dont you? Those princesses and their fairy tale romance. They are the major cause of our problems - directly or indirectly. Have you ever wondered why many of those princesses dont have a mother figure? Think about this carefully ......Cinderella, snow white, tinkerbell, rapunsel? ....... NONE. Now thanks to Disney, there is NOT ONE fairy tale princess that has a mother figure, the best we get is a wicked step mother. Our girls watch these over and over and just think, oh, a man has to be a rich, handsome prince to rescue her and be responsible to make her happy forever more. Realistic? Not really. As harsh as it sounds TV has got to be the most dangerous weapon against freedom, peace and harmony for our society. Now, since your child has a mother (YOU), you can teach your children differently especially your daughters. Teach her that life and marriage is not about happily ever after. There is a reason why the story only ends after the marriage and they ride into happily ever after. There is a reason why the stories never talk about kids, bills, school fees, inlaws and all the many distractions afterwards. In the real world, you have to work to get your happy ever after. You have to kiss that frog (eeew!!) to get a prince. YOUR prince. Our parents never watched these fairy tales and that is probably why they are better off. Maybe if we put in more energy working on our marriages and less time raising our expectations and dreaming of a happily ever after then there may just be fewer problems in marriages. i love disney by the way!!!! But we can love something and it will still do us harm.
