Your Excellence; Mr. President, (Micheal Sata). AS we mourn you today, our thoughts are with you all the way. Your death remains a blow to the Nation of Zambia. You died while serving the glory of mother Zambia. You were determined to see Zambia develop. You were a profound agent of change and a true advocate of peace and development in Zambia. You were a strong political Organizer, A vibrant leader, a fearless politician, and a Man of courage. Your resolve was unweathering and your determination admirable. You were a down to earth Man whose dreams and vision was pro-poor. You had the people of Zambia at heart. You worked hard to address the needs of the poor and to bring the people of Zambia out of poverty. You truly wanted to liberate Zambia through your better policies you’re your developmental projects. You endeavored to reduce poverty and to empower the ordinary citizens with wealth. You were a veteran politician who served your country in various leadership positions. You spent over 30 years of your life in public service trying your best to serve the people of Zambia. You fought tough battles with your fellow political leaders with the aim of wanting to liberate the people of Zambia. You were truly an advocate of peace, a beacon of hope and a Man of Action. A firm and tough leader who believed that nothing drops like Manna from heaven. You never entertained laziness; neither did you entertain the spirit of giving up. You inspired a lot of us young leaders. Through your resilience and hard work, you managed to rise through the ranks of political leadership. You were truly a Mentor, A Father and a true inspiration to most of us young leaders. One lesson that I have personally learnt from you is ’Your spirit of resilience and Hard work ’. This is a valuable lesson that I will always cherish and live to remember you for. You have left legacy which we hope to preserve, protect and uphold. I will always remember that September night in 2011 when you were ushered into office and declared as the president of this great nation. The night when I passionately joined the multitudes that spent a sleepless night celebrating your political victory under the slogan of ‘Don’t Kubeba’ Indeed you were a great leader, a dedicated Social democrat who was so passionate about developing the well being of Zambians. Through your good leadership, you made significant progress in the civil service reform and infrastructure development. You were truly a Man of Action, A Man of Change, A Man of the people and the people’s leader. Your love for Zambia is clearly evident. Despite your health failing you, you continued to strive for a better Zambia. You provided good Leadership when Zambia seriously needed it. Unfortunately, you did not live long enough to see all your dreams and developmental projects accomplished. We have lost you today. You are no longer with us and yet it is so painful to see you lying lifeless in a casket. Your death has robbed us of a great leader, and it is for this reason that Zambia is mourning today. You truly deserve a dignified send off. We will forever miss you. I pray that God will give us the fortitude to bear this great loss. Truly, death is a mystery. R.I.P….Batata.
