Your baby has been inside you, all warm and comfortable for almost - TopicsExpress

Your baby has been inside you, all warm and comfortable for almost 40 weeks, and to be suddenly separated from you can be traumatic. To be sent off to the hospital nursery in the care of strangers is scary. Does this explain why your baby is forever on your breast when you get home? Because thats the only place he wants to be. Thats the only place he should be. Then... Mommy is forever imprisoned? Well some dont mind this, but I understand its not practical. So what to do? Do the right thing from the very beginning. Start out right by not allowing your baby to be separated from mommy immediately afer birth. Do not send your baby away to the nursery. When baby cries in the nursery and Mommy is not there to pick him up, its very scary for baby. When your baby feels secure and understand that Mommy is still and always around, he will let go soon, and is able to sleep securely on his own for short periods of time. He will not have to cling onto you and suck for hours just so you dont put him down. Do the right thing from the very beginning. Makes sense?
