Your news shows have a job. That is to create a product. There are many, many stories that can be covered, but usually the ones that are best suited to become their product, are the ones that grab the most ratings. Their job is to cover these stories and sensationalize them in such a way, or give them a SLANT, that they grab you and keep you glued. The best way of doing that is to get you to be afraid. I believe the underlying message of most news stories is the sky is falling. Fear sells. Its not that being informed about potential threats is a bad thing, but if the result is an us against the police, black people, white people, republicans, democrats...etc, you might want to turn your tele off for awhile and center yourself a bit. Frightened mortals do stupid things.Your world doesnt need any more frightened nutjobs running around - not the least of which is you. In other news, the undead are slowly increasing in power and doubling in size. Your death is imminent.
