Youth Leaders Resolution Youth Leaders Resolution TIME FOR CONFRONTATIONALACTION In reference to 1. MYLJR RESOLUTION 32 issued out in February and which called for the stop of the economic genocide particularly the following declarations issued on that day Therefore we declare the following. Ø That all companies in Bulawayo established before1980 should not relocate any equipment and/or resources; Ø All relocated firms must return all the equipment they stole from our beautiful land; Ø We call upon for revolutionary action throughout all corners of Mthwakazi, our unemployed brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers must now fight for their rights; Ø We demand that all employment opportunities should give priority to our people first; Ø That Dairyboard should be the last company to loot equipment and resources to Harare whoever wants to leave our land must relocate in peace and leave behind everything they did not bring here. 2. MYLJR RESOLUTION 37 and STATEMENT ON AFRICA DAY, MAY1 2013 which called for an Immediate re-dress of the closure of companies and the address rate of unemployment in Mthwakazi and also the culminating levels of poverty which area direct subsequent consequence of segregative polices targeting our people. 3. And inreference to Article 23.1 of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights; which states that: “Everyone has the right to work, to free choice of employment, to just and favourable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment” EMPHASIZING that the closure of Dairyboard was to be the last industry to close down in Bulawayo; NOW CONVINCED that all forms of pen, paper and empty dialogue in resolving the problems affecting the people of Mthwakazi have been to no avail. We, on the 21st of June 2013, called on a special meeting following the closure of ASCOT Clothing Industry, also noting that workers at MARVO Stationers have gone for six months without any remuneration and also taking into consideration that most young people in the beautiful land of Mthwakazi are not employed and can neither fend nor provide for their families. Understanding that the right to work is ancillary to all other rights like, the: 1. Right to food, 2. Right to education 3. Right to good health 4. Right to housing 5. Excreta As without work people will not be in a position to achieve to feed their families, pay rents and concluding that most in our generation and indeed the whole community of Mthwakazi has been turned into a hopeless society. We, therefore CALL FOR MASS ACTION and declare that in mid-July, we take to the STREETS PEACEFULLY and exercise our constitutional right as provided for in the constitution. Arrests will not deter us from fighting for our fundamental rights. We remain resolute and determined in our fight for the fundamental rights of the people of Mthwakazi.
