You’re You, not them. Stop making other people’s failure an obstacle to your success, stop making their past an obstacle to your future. You’re You, not them. Stop saying: “Nobody has ever achieved this, nobody is successful in my family, everyone says it’s impossible” You’re You, not them. Whether nobody in your family finished high school, Whether nobody in your family went to tertiary, Whether nobody in your family is successful or working, that doesnt mean you should follow on their footsteps, it doesnt mean you should be like them. You’re You, not them. If you were them you wouldnt be created because they existed before you. You’re uniquely created, let that count. The fact that your classmates are bunking classes, dropping out of school, coming to school late and not doing their school work doesnt mean you should do the same, you’re You, not them. The fact that your colleagues don’t come to work every Monday, or don’t do their job to the fullest doesnt mean you should do the same, you’re You, not them. People in your community might not be succeeding but that doesnt mean you should also not succeed. You are You, not them. Your friend might not see the reason to grow and succeed, they might party every weekend, destroy their lives in the name of enjoying it, but that doesnt make you them, it doesnt mean you should be like them, you are You, not them. Let nothing stand between you and your success, let nobody’s life, past, failure be yours or be an obstacle for you to succeed. Stop making decisions based on other people’s lives, you have your own life to live.
