You’re to show love to everyone; including those you may consider undeserving of love. Jesus said, in Matthew 5:44: "...Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despite-fully use you, and persecute you." Remember that God sent Jesus to die for us, even whilst we were sinners; it had nothing to do with how "very nice and kind" we were: it was a function of His grace (Romans 5:8).
